Satara and Nashik once again hogged the limelight by convincingly winning their second round of matches in the Maharashtra Inter-District Football Championship for Sub-Junior Boys in Nashik. Satara trounced Dhule 9-1 while hosts Nashik scored a 5-0 win against Aurangabad. Meanwhile, Shaikh Faizan inspired Hingoli to a 4-0 victory over Nanded with a blistering hat-trick.
Earlier in the day, Sangli emerged victorious in a cracking encounter with Bhandara. Sangli’s Sadik Desai scored the two goals for his side in a 2-1 win over Bhandara who got on the score sheet through KabirLimje.
Chandrapur registered an identical 2-1 win over Washim thanks to goals from MehulSindram and a cracking winner from Vishal Perkawar who didn’t hesitate to portray his joy with a cartwheel celebration.
