Collegian Siddhi Kolekar, from Bhatia junior college, rallies to down Tanishka Pawar in the girls under-16 quarterfinals in the Poinsur Gymkhana promotional table tennis tournament, held at their complex at Kandivali here today. Siddhi, who initially struggled a bit before she went up 2-1. But Tanishka fought back to level the tie as Siddhi in order to be more aggressive made too many mistakes. Even in the decider, Siddhi was down 8-10 before she saved match point and then went on to clinch the tie 11-8, 9-11, 11-4, 8-11, 12-10.In another quarterfinal tie, Synora D’Costa, too, rllied from 1-2 to get the better of Akshata Shinde 11-8, 11-13, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9.

TT umpire/referee K.R.V.Rao, who had done yemon service to the game of table , both at state and national level, passed away recently, after a long illness.
