Boca associates with TSG


City Kids will get opportunity to learn to play football
from renowned coaches from Boca Juniors Football School

The passion for football is all set to soar with the Argentinean based Boca Juniors Football School in association with The Sports Gurukul (TSG),will provide support during Ajmera FCL (Football Champions League) Juniors, a football tournament for kids, which is being hosted and conducted by TSG.

TSG has joined hands with the famed Argentine club to set up a Boca Juniors Football School, based in Mumbai at their sprawling football facilities at Ajmera Park, Wadala (East).

BOCA Juniors is widely regarded around the world for producing top quality football players, including ‘Footballer of the Century’ Diego Maradona. The footballing great had two stints with the club and played 70 matches scoring 35 goals for the club. Juan Román Riquelme is another great to have cut his spurs with the club In the current generation of footballers Carlos Tevez who has had around 90 appearances (fmr Manchester United and Manchester City) is among the popular faces of the club.

Jay Shah, Founder & Director of The Sports Gurukul said, “Ajmera FCL Junior is a very exciting project for TSG. Boca Juniors Football Schools association with this event is very exciting for the sport and Sports Gurukul. We are looking forward to its official launch in February-March 2016. League tournaments give children an opportunity to learn and execute a new tactic or skill in the next game making this, a learn – adapt – implement – succeed opportunity for budding sportsmen.”

The BOCA Juniors Football School, India who operate from Bangalore since 2013 will help to promote the sport and cater to the grassroot talents, identify and nurture the footballers . The children participating in the ‘Ajmera FCL’ will get a unique opportunity to get selected for a special training camp under International coaches. Ajmera FCL (Junior) a day/ night tournament is another exclusive experience planned at providing a glorious platform for young and budding footballers to showcase their talent. FCL has a clear vision of encouraging the young brigade into playing the world’s most entertaining and popular sport – Football. Moreover, an opportunity to play the game under floodlights will be a thrilling experience for the participants as one of the major attractions. The tournament which starts from December 5, 2015 will cater to the following age groups: U-6 (mix), U-8(mix), U-10, U-12 & U-14 (Boys & Girls), Under 16 boys and will be held over the weekends (9am-1pm) Night (5.30pm-9.30pm).

Before it launches in February 2016 we thought that it would be a fantastic opportunity to be part of grassroot talent scouting and FCL Junior is a great platform. Our BOCA Juniors Football School coaches would be scouting talents in this tournament and selected talents would be given a special training under our coaches in the Summer of 2016 in Mumbai.”
