Thanks to fine allround performance by Darshan Bhange, IES (English, Bandra) defeated IES (Kandvaili) by eight wickets to sail into the semifinals of the Poinsur Gymkhana Inter-School cricket tournament at their ground at Kandivali today. Bowling offspinners Darshan bagged four for 12 as their counterparts from Kandivali were restricted for 126 for nine off the allotted 30 overs.

Chasing 127, Darshan opened the innings to score a quickfire 31 with six fours before he was caught while trying for another big hit. But then Abhishek Surve (34 n.o.) and Sanket Kashli (26 n.o.) saw their side through without any hiccups.
The other tie saw strong favourites Rizvi Sprinfield bowl out Oxford Public for 80 and then their opener Sagar Chhabria hitting an unbeaten 45 to steer his side to comfortable win by 8 wickets.

IES (Charkop, Kandivali) 126 for 9 off 30 overs (Rushabh Shah 44, Satish Sawant 23; Darshan Bhange 4/12) lost to IES (New English, Bandra) 127 for 2 (Darshan Bhange 31, Aditya Shrivastava 29, Abhishek Surve n.o. 34, Sanket Kashli n.o. 26) by 8 wkts.
