Air India tame RCF 6-2


Air India hit top gear in the second half, scoring five goals during this period to record an emphatic 6-2 win against Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers (RCF) in an Elite Division
match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the Cooperage football ground on Saturday evening. The reigning champions Air India led 1-0 at the end of the first half.

Hard-working striker Ashkar C.V. and experienced midfielder Vijith Shetty scored two goals each while teammates Wayne Vaz and Anderson D’sa chipped in with one each to complete the scoring tally for Air India, while Jagdish Madada and Kevin Patrick struck one a goal each late in the game to reduce the margin of defeat.

The next Elite Division match will be played between Mumbai Customs and Union Bank of India on Sunday, November 14 at 3.00 pm.

Results – Elite Div: Air India 6 (Ashkar C.V. 34th, 81st, Wayne Vaz 51st, Vijith Shetty 70th, 87th, Anderson D’Sa 76th) beat Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertiliser 2 (Jagdish Madada 85th, Kevin Patrick 90th).
