Mumbai FC stormed to a facile 5-0 win against Central Railway in an Elite Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the Cooperage football ground on Saturday evening. Sandesh Gadkari, Malemnganba Meteei, Taisuke Matsugae, Eric Brown and Karan Sawhney all contributed a goal each to complete the demolition of the railwaymen.
The former champions Mumbai FC were better organised in every department. They showed good understanding and coordination as they dictated terms from the outset.
Gadkari got the breakthrough for Mumbai FC in the 18th minute before Meteei doubled the lead 12 minutes later. Japanese midfielder Matsugae scored the third goal in the first minute of additional time in the first half to give Mumbai FC a 3-0 cushion.
In the second session, Mumbai FC continued in the same vein and struck two more goals through Eric Brown in the 69th minute and Karan Sawhney in the 90th minute to complete another big win.
The next Elite Division match will be played between Union Bank of India and Western Railway on Sunday, November 1 at 3.30 pm.
