Over 900 swimmers from 23 odd affiliated districts of Maharashtra will be seen in action during the annual Maharashtra State age group aquatic meet to be organized by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association in association with the Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association at Goregaon Sports Club at their sprawling Olympic size swimming pool from today (June 3).
The 3-day Meet is significant importance because it also forms the basis of selection of swimmers/divers/water polo players for the forthcoming National Age Group Aquatic Championships scheduled to be held in Bengaluru later this month or early July. Apart from 120 swimming events, there will also of competition for divers/water polo players for 18 diving events and water polo for Boys/Girls to be conducted simultaneously during the three days of meet. Some of the finest India’s finest age group swimming talent will battle for supremacy and earn qualification for the Bangalore Nationals Age Group meet either later this month or early July.
