More than 300 chess players from 17 countries will feature in the Rs 20 lakh prize money 2nd IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Chess Tournament, which will have a Grandmaster’s event and Junior event for Under-13 children and will be played at Mount Litera School International, BKC Bandra from December 26 to January 3.
As many as 16 Grandmasters, 4 Women Grandmasters and 11 International Masters will be vying for the spoils in the main event, while the junior event will be the “World’s Richest Event” for U-13 players. Besides cash prizes, players will have an opportunity to earn GM/IM norm and title.
The event is being organized by Indian Chess School under the aegis of World Chess Federation (FIDE), Sports Authority of India, All India Chess Federation, Maharashtra Chess Association & Mumbai Suburban District Chess Association.
