Entries are fast filling up and the registration numbers have crossed the milestone of over 100 schools along with more than 3,000 students who have signed up and joined the SFA revolution, an annual ‘Sports and Education Week’ , with its first event to be held at the Dr. D.Y Patil Sports Stadium from 24th Dec to 31st Dec 2015.
The 8-day sporting extravaganza will see young athletes from the Jamnabai Narsee School, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Sulochanadevi Singhania School , Utpal Sanghvi School, JBCN Schools, Ryan International Schools, Lilavati Podar Senior Secondary School along with several government aided schools compete in rigorous events across nine different Olympic sports.
The SFA has tied up with physiotherapists, nutritionists as well as a movement therapist, to create a state of the art ‘mind and body care center’ at the venue. All of this will be available absolutely free of cost to every participant. Player safety and nurturing has been termed to be of paramount importance at the SFA tournament. Since sports injuries would be hard to avoid with children of different age group playing various sports at multiple venues at the stadium, SFA has designated a dedicated area for a care clinic and a specialized warm up zone for children to stretch and exercise.
Now children will not have to drop out of the competition, in-case of injuries that can easily be cured with immediate care, just the way international athletes have it today!
