After successfully holding the inaugural Mumbai Masters Premier T20 League last year, the Jwala Sports Foundation in association with the Mumbai Cricket Club has embarked upon to have its second edition – MMPL- season-2 in December under floodlights.
Encouraged by terrific response in the first year, in which eight teams – Bandra Blasters, Chembur Strikers, Mulund Master Blasters, Shivaji Park Super Stars, Paradigm Borivali Warriors, Juhu Heroes, Santacruz Crackers and Worli Pitch Smashers participated, the organizers now plan to add two more team to make it a 10-team affair.
The event will be held on double-leg basis with teams divided two groups with each team getting to play the other team twice. The top two teams in their respective groups will be contesting the final.
The eligibility criteria for a player is that he has to be 33 years and above and has to be non-professional. The event carries Rs 8 lakhs as prize money.The matches are likely to be telcasted on the Youtube channels.
